Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

"Success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has overcome while trying to succeed."

Hello. You Matter.

By nature, I am a researcher, a learner, and a practitioner. I am originally from Columbus, Ohio. However, I have been fortunate enough to have had extended stays in multiple cities across the US. While these experiences help shape my lens, perhaps none are more important than my time in Nebraska.

While in Nebraska, I held positions that, directly and indirectly, put me in contact with disenfranchised communities. It was through these experiences that led me to conduct my research on the lack of response by the American Catholic Church during the civil rights movement and high school graduation rates in dense metropolitan areas.

Professionally, I primarily operate within two spaces, the first being DEI and the second being social media marketing. In the DEI space I have consulted on a litany of projects for companies and really helped move the conversation forward. In the social media space I have been successful in creating and implementing both paid and organic growth and engagement strategies. Outside of work, I am actively plugged into various other business arenas, always keeping a pulse on what is happening in the marketplace; when I find free time I loves to consult on small business and start up projects. Socially, I am a co-founder of a grassroots organization that creates a safe space for millennial people of color in a religious setting.

While COVID-19 has thrown a wrench in many people's hopes and dreams for 2020, it was the catalyst that allowed me to meet Kate. Early in lockdown, a mutual friend held a virtual happy hour. While that conversation was powerful, it was ultimately my follow-up the next day that led to this moment, right now. I reached out to Kate and through a series of phone calls over a couple of months I listened to Kate’s dream, often times soaking in the information rather than trying to offer my own opinions. Although I was pretty green, Kate saw something in me that she believed would make me a perfect fit for the Five To Flow team.
